Ken to direct “The Boys in the Boat”
He certainly seems to have his directing cap on recently.
Kenneth Branagh will direct an adaptation of The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown for the Weinstein company.
“Set in the 1930s, the book centers around the U of Washington’s powerhouse rowing team. Sources describe the project as a cross between “Seabiscuit” and “Chariots of Fire.”
“The Boys in The Boat is an epic,” Branagh said in a statement. “I was completely captivated by the characters, the era, and the dreams of a generation unfolding beautifully and dramatically.”
