That's why I resist being appropriated as the current repository of Shakespeare on the planet. That would mean I'm part of the English cultural elite, and I am utterly ill-fitted to be.

Branagh’s Hamlet. My favorite interpretation of this scene. The mirrors, the raw emotion from both of them, etc. Truly heartbreaking. I also think Kate plays the best Ophelia, although Carter’s Mad Scene is inspired.
